Questions

Everything you want to know before inviting a chef in

How are chefs vetted?

Every chef completes identity verification, a background screening through a licensed provider, food safety credential review, and a manual approval by our trust team before they can be booked. Chefs are reviewed under platform safety standards — we never publish screening details.

How do groceries work?

Your chef sends a grocery estimate before the visit. You approve it, the chef shops (or uses what you have), and the receipt is uploaded for your review. Groceries are pass-through — Bring A Chef takes 0% commission on them.

What does it cost?

You always see the chef’s service fee, the grocery estimate, and the platform fee before you book. Weekly service starts around $98–$135 per visit plus groceries, depending on your city and household size. Tips are optional and go 100% to your chef.

When is my address shared?

Chefs see your neighborhood while proposing menus. Your exact address is shared only after your booking is confirmed, and access is time-limited around the visit.

Can I keep the same chef every week?

Yes — recurring plans default to the same chef, and your household profile means they get better every visit. If your chef is away, a vetted backup can step in with your full food profile (never your notes marked private).

Are the reviews real?

Ratings can only be left after a completed, verified booking. Written comments are moderated before publication and chefs can appeal ratings that were outside their control.

What if something goes wrong?

Every booking includes incident support. Report an issue from the visit screen and our trust and safety team follows up — payouts pause automatically while serious reports are reviewed.

Your week could taste a lot better.

Tell us where you are and how your household likes to eat. We’ll take it from there.
